My friend, Rob Bettmann, commissioned me to design a logo for his online magazine, Bourgeon (bourgeononline.com). He suggested the them - a budding branch - and i found an image of an elm branch that i could convert, via the fantastic SVG vector-graphics editor, Inkscape, into this iconic image.

Image Myriadicity Regressing Clasp

Here's a draft logo design which i wound up using, in the abstract, only for the site favicon. It's a fairly elementary, original example of a design that's self-similar across scale: the successive enclosing braces are the identical to the ones they immediately contain, except larger. You can also look at it as a pair of repeatedly crossing paths, clockwise going inwards, counter-clockwise going outwards. I like to think that the paths turn around at the (infinite) outer edge and center, so they actually constitute one infinitely enraveled loop.
