Occasional Ensemble Improv and Authentic Movement gatherings

This space is available for improv gatherings only on special occasions, when the Havlik Dance Performance Group rehearsals that happen there and then are on hiatus. Ken Manheimer, who is a member of the Havlik Group as well as a jammer, announces opportunities on the DC-CI mailing list.

Among other things, we tend to use the opportunities to play with ensemble movement improv scores like those found inAction Theater - The Improvisation of Presence and Body Space Image: Notes Toward Improvisation and Performance. The aim is focused and fun movement-based ensemble improvisations - including sometimes just jamming.

The community center is at 5601 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20015, across a plaza from the Chevy Chase public library. There's a parking lot in the back, accessible from Mckinley and Northampton streets.
