Some sketches (pastel and pencil) from a my first ventures into figure drawing. They're all from a five day workshop (in July, 2005) organized by my friend, Susan Singer, and conducted by a fantastic teacher, Thomas Bosket (who also tended to serve as the model). Both are terrific artists, as were the others in the class - i was the neophyte...
You can see my progress through the course of the class - i was surprised by what i was able to do early on, with pastels, but was astounded by what i was eventually able to do with pencils - and also astounded by the depth of attention figure drawing demands, and rewards.
