    When it comes to visual art I used to be just an eager spectator. Over years of dabbling – doodling and playing with colors, particularly chalk pastels, I eventually have been surprised to make some that I really like. I'm glad to share it!

    (The use of art for personal reflection in Authentic Movement practice helped cultivate this for me.)

    Pastel Explorations

    I've come to love the vibrant depth of chalk pastels. Here are a few favorites. I drew them by hand, mostly using NuPastels on various kinds of paper. In some cases I applied simple digital effects, like contrast exaggeration which I mention in the descriptions.

    Partings Collage

    Gathering with friends at the home of one who had been doing collage for years, we spent an evening creating our own collages. I came up with this collage informed by sadness, having recently parted from a several-year romantic relationship.

    Learning Figure Drawing

    Some pastel or pencil sketches from my venture into figure drawing via a 2005 five day class.

    Inkscape Experimentation

    Experiments using a free structured-graphics drawing tool, Inkscape .
